We at Tolka would like to welcome you to our academy for the 2009 – 2010 season. I would like to take this opportunity to show you some of the changes we have made to the academy. We have strived  to bring you the best facilites and coaching available in schoolboy football for both boy’s and girl’s. We have made some very big changes in how the academy is going to run. We are going to run the academy to a very high and professional standard so the kids will get more training time and not be standing around during training.

I have outlined some of these changes below:  

• 4 coaching staff each morning
• Quality and not quantity of coaching
• Kids to wear club training gear
• Staff to wear club gear
• Excellent facilities ( Frank Cooke Park )
• Excellent equipment (Balls, bibs, cones, poles etc)
• All ball exercises and minimal wasted training time
• Inter academy friendlies against other clubs
• 1 coach per 10 children approx
• Training will be geared towards children’s football development
• Saturday mornings from 10 – 12am
• The academy is there for the children’s FUN + ENJOYMENT

We hope you will like some of the new idea’s we have implemented to the academy. We are also going to introduce the academy to play against other academy’s in friendly games. To date the academy has organized 5 matches and these will begin in September 09’ – March 10’. The games are to help the children develop against other skill levels and it will give our academy a chance to see if our coaching is working in the right direction.

This is a long term program by Tolka Rovers and it will take 2 – 3 years to get the best results possible. We have laid a very strong structure in place to insure the children at Tolka Rovers Academy will finish there football education at a very high level.
